with register number 37847 of cultural organizations at the Ministry of Culture.
Awarded by the Academy of Athens. Associated company with the Greek Environment and Culture Society.

The Nisyrian studies' society establishes in 1961 in Athens, in order to protect and promote every historic and folkloric element with regards to our home island. It is all Society Members' conviction that it is an obligation and fulfilment of a holy debt of honour towards their Nisyrians ancestors to absolutely preserve what they created because this is the intellectual wealth and heritage which they will bequeath to the newer generation. Therefore, any effort and any exertion to this direction are imperative.

1. INCLUSION IN THE LIST OF UNESCO GEOPARKS

Our Society supports the candidacy of Nisyros for inclusion in the List of UNESCO geoparks.

2. NATIONAL INDEX OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE.

Registration in the National Index of Intangible Cultural Heritage of three customs from Nisyros, following a proposal by our President. Details of the procedures and issued decisions, in the special Chapter on the home page.



3. PRESENTATION OF NISYRIAKA vol.22

On the afternoon of the August 11, 2023 the presentation of the 22nd volume of the NISYRIAKA took place in Nisyros in the presence of a large audience.



4. CONSECRATION OF THE GUESTHOUSE IN GIANNIDIOS NISYRIAN SEAT.

On March 20, 2022, Fr. Efstathios Arkamouzis was consecrated the guesthouse of the municipality of Nisyros, in Giannidios Nisyrian Seat, Athens, in the presence of the mayor and other officials.
